YogaSoul Retreats · Greece 2027 · 2026 Sold Out
Always producing, always putting everything else first: that’s not a personal failing, it’s a design problem. And most “yoga retreats” don’t fix it, they bolt a class onto a vacation and send you home just as tired. This is the opposite: a private estate on the Aegean, morning yoga with the sea in view, a chef from Athens, and a small group who’ll feel like family by Thursday.
One island · One week · One small group
The Experience
Koufonisia is a small, walkable island in the Cyclades. The beaches are golden and empty, and the village is small enough to cross in ten minutes. Most people have never heard of it. The ones who make it there tend to keep it to themselves.
This is where Rachel and Eric have chosen to bring a small group of students for a week of yoga, rest, good food, and genuine connection. The practices are intentional. The days are unrushed. The island does the rest.
All-levels vinyasa flow, breath-led movement, and short meditation each morning to awaken your body and set a purposeful tone for the day.
Wind down each evening with yin yoga, yoga nidra, guided meditation, or restorative practice, restoring your nervous system and deepening inner stillness.
Cliff jumping, beach swimming, hiking, a boat tour, village wandering. The beaches are a short walk from the estate, and the afternoons stay unscheduled.
Two nourishing family-style meals daily prepared by a private chef from Athens, locally sourced vegetarian, vegan, and fresh seafood options.
Structured space for journaling, quiet reflection, and mindfulness, practical tools you’ll carry home to reset and find balance in everyday life.
An intimate retreat for a small group. The connections built on these islands tend to last a lifetime.

Your Guides
The husband-and-wife team who host you at the table, on the beach, and on every island adventure.

Rachel has been leading these retreats for years, with Eric alongside on the logistics, and the thing students consistently say is that they feel genuinely cared for, not just instructed. Rachel holds the yoga with depth and warmth. Eric keeps the details running quietly in the background. Together they create an environment where it’s safe to slow down, go inward, and actually rest.
They brought this retreat to this exact island in 2026, and it sold out. For 2027 they’re returning to the same private estate, the same chef, the same golden beaches. They know the ferries, the tavernas worth finding, and exactly when to leave for the afternoon session so everyone catches the golden hour light. You’re not joining a tour, you’re joining their table.
Rachel has practiced yoga for more than 28 years, trained 300+ teachers, and led retreats across Greece, Central America, and beyond. In May 2027 she’s also leading the Meteora Hiking & Meditation Retreat, which wraps up five days before this one begins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you book.
A private estate set on a hillside with sweeping views of the Aegean, not a hotel, not a resort. Think open terraces, outdoor dining, a pool for afternoon swims, a hot tub for evenings, and a sauna to close out the day. The yoga space looks out over the water. The golden sandy beaches are a short walk from the gate. The island is fully walkable and genuinely quiet: a traditional Greek island, not a tourist stop.
The nearby village is within a 10–15 minute walk. Several beaches are also within easy walking distance. There are many more islands to visit, as well as mainland Greece, if you decide to stay longer and explore on your own after the retreat ends.
You’ll be delighted by the food prepared by our private chef from Athens, a wide array of vegetarian and vegan, locally sourced cuisine. Locally caught fish and seafood will also be served several times during the week. All meals are served family-style. If you have dietary concerns, let us know prior to arrival and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you.
Plan to fly into Athens, Santorini, or Naxos, then take a ferry to Koufonisia. We recommend flying into Greece the day before the retreat starts. Then plan on a late morning or early afternoon ferry on May 29th, as the retreat begins that afternoon with a traditional Greek village festival! Rachel, Eric, or our staff will meet you at the dock and bring you to our home for the week.

Absolutely, and many people do. Solo travelers are warmly welcomed and quickly become part of the group. This retreat is intentionally small and intimate, which means connections form naturally and deeply. If you’re traveling solo and want a shared room to keep costs down, just let us know and we’ll match you with a compatible roommate.
Yes, the Couple’s Rooms are designed exactly for this. Each person pays $3,079 ($6,158 total for the two of you), and you’ll share a private ensuite room together. Simply have both of you complete checkout, or reach out to us and we’ll coordinate your rooms.
Keep it light, Koufonisia is a casual, barefoot kind of island. Bring comfortable yoga clothes, a swimsuit (or two), a light layer for cooler evenings, sturdy sandals, sunscreen, and a journal. A reusable water bottle is a must. Leave the formal wear at home. Oh, and bring Euros in cash for gratuities and anything you pick up in the village.
All levels are welcome. Morning classes are vigorous and all-levels, Rachel is skilled at offering modifications and meeting each student exactly where they are. Evening sessions are gentle and restorative by design. You don’t need to be an advanced practitioner to get tremendous benefit from this week.
A $500 fee applies to transfer your reservation. You may transfer your spot to another person, or if the retreat is full, your room will go to the waitlist and a refund (minus $500) will be issued once your spot is filled. Cancellations within two months of the retreat start date require you to fill your own spot. We strongly recommend travel insurance for international travel.

Rachel or Eric will confirm your registration personally, answer any remaining questions, and get a few details from you, dietary needs, room preferences, arrival plans. You’re in good hands from this moment on.
On May 29th someone from our team will meet you at the ferry dock. All you have to do is arrive, let go, and enjoy. We chose this week on purpose: on the evening of May 29th, the whole village celebrates its annual Fisherman’s Festival.
A group this small fills fast, and so does the window where you can give yourself a week like this.
You stop finding reasons to wait when you understand what waiting actually costs.
You fly home with a handful of people who feel like they’ve always known you, and a quietness you haven’t felt in longer than you can remember. You come home as someone who finally treated themselves as worth the trip, and who knows, now, exactly what that feels like.

Eleven days earlier, in the mountains:
the Meteora Hiking & Meditation Retreat, May 18–24.
The two retreats run five days apart, by design. Some guests are doing both: hike beneath the thousand-year monasteries of Meteora, wander Athens or the islands in between, then arrive in Koufonisia ready to truly rest. Ask Rachel & Eric about planning the double.
